Feature Request: Update mechanism for Windows and macOS

First of all, amazing work on this repository! Microsoft's decision not to officially support Linux made me abandon the original GitHub Desktop, so finding a fork that not only includes Linux support but also introduces new features is fantastic.

I was wondering if there is currently an update mechanism for platforms outside of Linux (specifically Windows and macOS) that allows users to easily detect new versions? If not, I would love to suggest adding a built-in update checker for those operating systems.

Currently, the plan is to use Homebrew for macOS (issue #25) and Winget for Windows (PR #77).

• Windows (Winget): We are currently waiting for Microsoft to review @guplem's submission. If things move quickly, we could have automatic releases as soon as the next release (v3.5.6.6).
  I think Winget doesn't provide autoupdate functionality out of the box, but tools like Winget-AutoUpdate can fill that gap.
  Edit: My bad, Winget does support upgrading all packages, just like any other package manager. Just make sure to run winget upgrade --all periodically.
• macOS (Homebrew): If nobody contributes a working (and tested) cask first, I'll do it myself around June or July. Right now I'm quite busy and don't have an easy way of testing it.

Thanks for supporting winget! But there seems to be an issue with it, specifically with upgrading. I just installed using winget, then just to test I ran winget upgrade --all, and it is reporting that there is an update, even though I have the latest version:

As you can see the installed version has different formatting, leading it to believe a new version is available.

I managed to find some free time to write and test a Homebrew release.
Therefore, all supported platforms now have native packages for installing and updating 🎉
