"Open in Visual Studio Code" not opening code directly on Windows

Hi, I am using pixi-gui 0.1.0.20260225.1059.5587899, and have code in my path, and pixi-gui detects it.
When I click "Open in Visual Studio Code" I expect Visual Studio Code to open, but it doesn't. I do see a task running:

I realized after waiting for a few minutes that I needed to click this task, then VSCode pops up:

Although I understand from @Hofer-Julian that it should pop up directly.
When VSCode opens I do see the environment is properly active.
