Would probably work for RedHat as well, but I have no way to test that, so I left it unchanged.

Would like to see this one merged. Alma 10 has been out for 6 months now and we're upgrading our servers to it.

we're now at EL10.1 the lack of support from an official perforce recommended module is very poor

now at 10.2 and 9.8 - so a major version and 8 point releases late to support current in support operating systems

Hey @ikonia and @Micsi : I've reviewed the change here and agree this needs to be pulled up the list. I've added it to the prioritization list I have with engineering.

As a note #1696 (which was incorporated in this PR) was closed as solved via #1686 which has been merged up to main. @Micsi: Would you be able to update the PR so this only has the Alma Linux version support changes? My understanding is the version comparison fix should now already be handled in main.
