Mimalloc 3.x.x

Thank you for your work maintaining this! I see that mimalloc 3.1.4 was released last week, and now there is 3.1.5 as well. Are there any plans to move to the 3.x.x series or otherwise offer it as an option (feature flag?). I have achieved better memory reduction results on that series and would be very interested in having an official release. Thanks again!

Hi, we will use mimalloc v3 when it is out of beta. A feature flag would be nice, but in order to do that we have to point the mimalloc submodule to the v3 branch so it's kind of one or the other.

Could perhaps a branch be added to this repository to allow using it as an 'experimental' version through Cargo git references?

I created a PR that allows to switch between v2 and v3 based on a feature flag: #144

In our case, using the v3 series resolved issues with increasing memory consumption, similar to microsoft/mimalloc#1001.
