Make sure you are on the latest version by running ani-cli -U

When searching for an anime the following error occurs:
Episode is released, but no valid sources!

Steps To Reproduce

1. Run ani-cli lain
2. Choose 1
3. Choose episode 1

Specified quality not found, defaulting to best

nixos-unstable only has it up 4.11 and it looks like 4.11 it the latest release on github, I suppose I can just wait until the offical github release, but thanks! at least I know the fix

That’s fair! But if you get impatient, you can try:

Linux:

sudo cp ani-cli/ani-cli /usr/local/bin

rm -rf ani-cli

Currently on Bazzite and I managed to find a simliar process as FlaccidJim, but a bit different.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a programmer on any level. I tried this in a container, then on my main OS install.

rm -rf ~/.ani-cli #removes the old version of ani-cli

git clone -b allanime-fix https://github.com/justchokingaround/ani-cli.git ~/.ani-cli
sudo cp ~/.ani-cli/ani-cli /usr/local/bin/ani-cli
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/ani-cli
rm -rf ~/.ani-cli
ani-cli --version

Should fix pretty much any Linux distro having the update issue to 4.12, even ones like mine that are locked down.

NixOS is usually one of the first to update.
Just wait a few days, I'd be surprised if they aren't on 4.12 by the end of the week

Ngl I'll recognize I overlooked that and therefore my comment was removed by me a couple seconds after posting. I love the fast reply and thanks a lot for that. Once that--the ssh thing--got taken care of, the problem still stands.

To fix the issue you just posted, since an " ani-cli -U " did not update it to 4.12.0;

You can run these to update to the fixed branch:

git clone "https://github.com/justchokingaround/ani-cli.git" -b "allanime-fix" ~/.ani-cli

cp ~/.ani-cli/ani-cli /usr/local/bin/ani-cli

chmod +x /usr/local/bin/ani-cli

rm -rf ~/.ani-cli

Then make sure it returns 4.12.0 with an " ani-cli -V "
