Idea: Build a list of translation status

It would be nice to have a overview of the language's translation status, mainly the not published ones. For instance, Russian is currently not published, how is the minimum requirement of PEP 545.

Having a central place to look the translation status / percentage would allow a quick look to have such answers.

The minimum requirements for PEP 545 are quite low (https://peps.python.org/pep-0545/#add-support-for-translations-in-docsbuild-scripts). I'm happy to add more languages to docsbuild-scripts.

Do any of you know why I'm seeing:

Should I store the errors reported by sphinx somewhere (issue, issue per language, a wiki, a file in the VCS tree) ? Should I add optional notification to whoever wants to be notified?

I would love to have an issue in PL repo for any such warning! Also would it be possible to have such formatting in my language's CI? Also I think it would make sense to display numbers of warnings/errors in the "dashboard".

Do you think here about Transifex state or the language repos? If language repos, they are covered in part the "dashboard" project.

A dashboard is a great idea. For that, I think the best idea would be to drop my idea of matrix-strategy of Github Actions and follow the solution of the pydocs translation dashboard: a Python script that do all the builds, stores output in files and then use it to build a dashboard based on a template file.

potodo 0.25 now allows us to check if PEP545 requirements are met by languages. This could be useful for spotting languages that are advanced but don't have repositories hence are not included in the dashboard.

One example: Portuguese (Portugal) - pt_PT - made great improvement recently and — as of this message — reached 96.63% of PEP545 requirements with library/functions.po in 442 / 518 ( 85.0% translated).

It's great, although this repository is getting quite complicated with pulling the docs translations, theme translations and soon glossary, and also storing things like the sample workflows, maybe in https://github.com/python-docs-translations/switcher-progress is better?

I wonder who is doing the translation, the devguide has no link to a repository nor coordinator. We should get in contact with them. Have you sent a message or should I do so?

I've sent a message in Transifex, but received no reply. Haven't tried email thought.
