Allow attendees who payed their tickets to vote on the talks submitted.

I think stars are more suitable since it's more a question of degree of opinion than polarizing opinions.

Secondarily I believe stars are easier to sort (amount of 5 stars 1st, then amount of 4 stars 2nd...) cause with thumbs you might have to decide between more opinionated algorithms like number of likes only, or likes less dislikes.

I like the X amount of tokens per user to vote. So they can put on each
talk they want, until a limit is reached...

Just like the current "vote for features" many sites use :)

I don't like stars (think of Olympics): should a talk with ONE 5-starts vote be better than another one with five 4-star votes? I don't think so.
I prefer like/dislike/nothing: you can like, dislike or do not vote on some talk. It's easy to do, easy to compute and (in my opinion) better for the entire result, since the probability of draw is smaller than with stars.
