AI-Powered Benefit Assistant for Persons with Disabilities in India
DivyangSahay bridges the gap between India's 26 million persons with disabilities and the government benefits they are entitled to. Nearly 70% of disability benefits go unclaimed every year due to complex eligibility rules, language barriers, and inaccessible application processes. This platform uses AI to simplify that entire journey — from discovering schemes to submitting applications.

cd DivyangSahay
npm installcp .env.example .env
# Add your Gemini API key to .env (optional)
npm run devThe app runs at http://localhost:5173.
The platform works without a Gemini API key. The chatbot and voice assistant use built-in fallback responses when no key is configured.
Create a .env file in the root directory (use .env.example as a template):
VITE_GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key_here
| Variable | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
VITE_GEMINI_API_KEY |
No | Google Gemini API key. Get one free at aistudio.google.com. If not provided, the app uses intelligent fallback responses. |

- Use the CSC Locator to find the nearest help center for submitting your application.
- Use the chatbot or voice assistant at any time to ask questions about schemes, documents, or rights.
npm run buildThe project is configured for Vercel out of the box. Import the GitHub repository on vercel.com, add VITE_GEMINI_API_KEY as an environment variable, and deploy.
Any static hosting platform that supports single-page applications will work. The build output is in the dist/ directory.
