this fix is critical for brownfield, swiftUI @main entry and sceneDelegate integrations especially since UIApplicationDelegate is deprecated in iOS 26 (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/Technotes/tn3187-Migrating-to-the-UIKit-scene-based-life-cycle).
