JDK Runtime configuration invalid

Open this project(https://github.com/apache/ratis) with VSCode, JDK Runtime cannot be configured.

You need to compile it through JetBrains IDEA first, and then the JDK Runtime can display it correctly. The main reason is that the local environment does not contain the relevant dependency packages, which leads to errors in parsing the Maven project.

Why does each module have an extra bin folder?

When Java is automatically built, a bin folder will be generated, and the contents of the bin folder will be exactly the same as the current module.

Is the team developing this extension definitely made up of Java developers?

Developing Java applications in VSCode feels like self-inflicted suffering.
