CodeAnt-AI Description

Expose execution IDs for Devbox shell commands

What Changed

  • shell commands can keep a caller-provided command_id and return the same value so results can be matched to requests
  • execution results now expose an executionId getter that returns the UUID assigned to that run

Impact

✅ Traceable shell executions
✅ Consistent command identifiers for automation
✅ Clearer command-result correlation

Suggestion: The new assertion that result.executionId must equal cmdId is invalid because the synchronous shell.exec path always generates its own command ID (via executeAndAwaitCompletion) and ignores caller-provided command_id, so the test will always fail even when the request succeeds. [logic error]

// Note: shell_name should override any shell_name in params
const result = await shell.exec('true', {

});
expect(result.exitCode).toBe(0);
Why it matters? ⭐

The SDK's sync shell.exec path simply generates its own executionId via executeAndAwaitCompletion and will never reuse the caller-provided command_id, so asserting they match is guaranteed to fail. Dropping that assertion makes the test verify "extra params don't break execution" without assuming behavior the SDK can't satisfy.
