This directory contains scripts to optimize your Hetzner Ubuntu VPS for ultra-low-latency real-time audio streaming with OpenAI's Speech-to-Speech API.
These optimizations reduce network latency by 30-60% through:
- BBR congestion control - Google's modern algorithm
- TCP_NODELAY - Disables Nagle's algorithm for immediate sends
- Minimal buffering - Configurable buffer sizes
- CPU performance mode - Eliminates frequency scaling delays
- Network interface tuning - Disables latency-inducing offloads

What it does:

- ICMP latency to Cloudflare, Google, OpenAI
- TCP connection time to HTTPS endpoints
- HTTP response time

- Location matters: Choose datacenter close to OpenAI servers (US/EU)
- CPX line: Good balance, supports all profiles
- CCX line: Dedicated CPU, best for aggressive profile
- CX line: Shared CPU, use moderate profile
Hetzner Cloud Firewall is external, so no local iptables overhead. β
