Yocto 6.0 Wrynose is out and it uses Rust 1.94.1; meta-rust-bin already has more recent binaries available, among others of course.
It seems there already is a need for a more recent Rust compiler in Yocto (see e.g. Azure/meta-iotedge#205 ). Supporting 6.0 would therefore seem like a matter of some urgency.
The existing PR for Whinlatter support would serve as a good starting point for this, even if Whinlatter itself is no longer supported and probably wouldn't be worth the effort at this point.
