Let's be accurate if something is not working in free software - it is not a shame, worst case it is frustrating.

2nd, it is not as critical as you describe it as something that is blocker for adoption because the other 20 features but the joystick - do work.

3rd, if you have an issue, provide logs in debug level, otherwise I cannot help for something that works for me and confirmed by users that works for them
