Summary of Changes
Hello @shubhangi-google, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request enhances the reliability of resumable upload functionalities by introducing explicit error handling for scenarios where an upload session cannot be found. It ensures that operations like reinitiating or canceling an upload correctly report failure when the associated session is missing, providing clearer feedback and preventing potential issues with invalid upload IDs.
Highlights
- Resumable Upload Error Handling: Improved the robustness of resumable upload operations by explicitly handling 404 (Not Found) HTTP responses, ensuring that missing upload sessions are correctly identified and result in a
falsereturn. reinitiate_resumable_uploadLogic: Modified thereinitiate_resumable_uploadmethod to returnfalseimmediately if thecheck_resumable_uploadcall indicates that the upload session is not found.cancel_resumable_uploadRefinement: Adjusted thecancel_resumable_uploadmethod's logic to exclude 404 responses when determining if a cancellation attempt was successful, preventing false positives for already missing sessions.- Comprehensive Test Coverage: Added new test cases across
service_spec.rbandstorage_upload_spec.rbto validate the new 404 handling logic for both restarting and deleting resumable uploads, ensuring correct behavior when an upload ID is invalid.

Code Review
This pull request aims to fix an issue with resumable uploads when the upload session is missing, by handling 404 responses. The changes correctly propagate failure states and add corresponding tests. However, I've identified a critical logic bug in the implementation that would cause uploads to fail even on successful checks. Additionally, a debugging dependency (pry) has been left in one of the test files and should be removed. My review includes suggestions to fix these issues.
