1D and 2D problems

Since VSCode-Aster doesn't handle 1D and 2D problems, what would be the best alternative for conducting such studies?

Hi,

Just to round out your understanding, VScode-aster provides command file autocompletion and assistance with creating export files and launching simulations, regardless of the physics being simulated or the type of mesh (1D, 2D, or 3D, or even a combination).

In addition, it is possible to view groups of nodes in a mesh, whether they are based on 1D meshes (SEG2 or SEG3 in code_aster), 2D meshes (TRI3, TRI6, QUAD4, or QUAD8 in code_aster), or 3D meshes (as shown in our latest webinar). Only 1D cells cann't be displayed at the moment. Therefore, to make the best progress before a new release of VScode-aster, we recommend this method. Furthermore, to address your specific use case, we invite you to detail it in an issue, with as much details as possible, on the relevant repository: https://github.com/simvia-tech/vs-code-aster.

As for alternatives, you can always use SalomeMeca, a version of which is available for download at https://open-simulation-center.org/fr/downloads/code_aster/SALOME_MECA/2024.1.0. We are working on the new Windows version for release in April.
