Begin simulation with InterventionalRadiologyController devices already inserted

Hello, I am currently using InterventionalRadiologyController to simulate endovascular interventions. However, I wanted to know if there was a method of starting the simulation with the devices already deployed in the scene, rather than starting from the insertion position. While defining 'xtip' in InterventionalRadiologyController achieves this somewhat, it would be useful to define certain coordinates for the length of the devices, to ensure that they remain within the vessel mesh. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I think that asis, the component is not able to do that. Maybe using a restshape with some dofs already deployed could work.

• Do you already have the positions/shape that should be applied to the tool?
• Could you explain a bit more the scenario? Why do you need to have the device already deployed? Is the deployed part gonna move after?
