Running SumatraPDF using Wine on Linux in a sandbox

There have been many comments about the issues of running SumatraPDF in either a sandbox OR Linux because the Windows dressing is not there.

I run SumatraPDF installed in Windows Sandbox most of the day 24/7 so there are a few very minor limitations in Windows Sandbox but none significant to generic use.

So let me mention Title bar dressing is managed by Windows hence traditional problems when using Wine tabbed applications that integrate with the top bar, that is a Wine/WimpDos problem not a SumatraPDF one!

There are 3 benefits to DLL installation rather than Standalone EXE version that require to be used as registered DLLS
1 Integration with browsers such as Latest Gecko = Pale Moon 2026 (I use that most days) or legacy Netscape Interops Like K-Meleon
2 Windows search index unlikely to work in Wine ? Never Recommended as of much value in Windows NT (NewTechnology)
3 Windows preview engine No real use to me in Windows Sandbox as highly problematic due to Microsoft Failings but I include it as may partially work on rare occasions

So if you're not running core Windows with PaleMoon there is no real benefit to installation.
Above are unlikely to be much use in Mac Parallels OR Wine.

Over the years many dozens (hundreds?) spin off variations on SumatraPDF releases (many also by abusers) will probably 95% of the time be using the single exe rather than the installed variant)

SO I suggest place a copy of the 32bit.EXE (or 64 if needs be) with a starter SumatraPDF-settings.txt file (with the Linux settings) in a folder before launch and SumatraPDF will then absorb them
