✔️ Recently Released

Headless Toolbar API

Build your own toolbar UI while keeping SuperDoc’s editing engine underneath.
SuperDoc now includes a headless toolbar surface that gives you toolbar state, command execution, and framework-friendly integration points so you can fully own the toolbar experience without reimplementing editor behavior.

Robust CSS Variable & Theming System

Control document appearance with a stronger theming foundation.
We expanded SuperDoc’s CSS variable and theming system so it’s easier to apply consistent branding, customize UI surfaces, and create more polished embedded experiences without forking core UI.

Expanded Document API + SDK/CLI Capabilities (Alpha)

Build richer document workflows with more explicit programmatic control.
From March through early April, we expanded the Document API and its SDK/CLI surface with stronger support for lists, tables, story targeting, paragraph direction, and document field/statistics workflows. This continues our push toward more reliable document automation for both developers and AI systems.

VS Code Extension Improvements

Bring more of the SuperDoc workflow into developer tooling.
We shipped a substantial update to the VS Code extension, including improved test coverage, comment support, and general cleanup to make the extension more reliable for day-to-day use.

🛠️ In Progress

Expanded List Styles & Interactions (ETA: by Apr 30)

Give users more control over bulleted and numbered lists.
We’re actively working on richer list interactions, including additional bullet and numbering styles exposed through the toolbar so common Word-style list workflows feel more complete in SuperDoc.

Structured Template Field Presets (ETA: by Apr 24)

Insert template fields with predefined content like tables and lists.
We’re making Template Builder more powerful for repeatable workflows by letting teams insert richer prebuilt field structures, not just plain-text placeholders.

Improved TypeScript Support for SuperDoc (ETA: by Apr 27)

Make SuperDoc easier to integrate with stronger, more reliable typings.
We’re improving the TypeScript experience across SuperDoc’s primary public API so teams get clearer types, fewer integration gotchas, and a more reliable developer experience when building on the platform.
