How to persist MediaStream

Describe the feature in detail (code, mocks, or screenshots encouraged)

I'm building a PWA, I'm already using the MediaStream elsewhere and the ios permission requesting every time the component is created is painful, so I was looking to persist a MediaStream across the duration of the session, I haven't implemented or tested this yet, but it brings me to the question of how this might work with barqode which I would also like to use in my app.

What type of pull request would this be?

edit: hmm maybe this trick stopped working :(

I am away travelling right now so I can’t provide a super detailed answer. but a solution I have found for PWAs on iOS is to instruct the user to go to your web apps URL in their normal browser and from there make sure they always allow camera from said domain. a bit cumbersome to set up but super nice UX once the user have done so (once)

Is there any world in which you would support passing in a MediaStream?

it could perhaps work - I have not had a chance to look into the details. I don’t think there is a fundamental blocker to accepting a MediStream - I wonder how much work it would be to add that option though and how that would affect the API
