Options Tree ‐ Spring expand

This is a sub-option of Single click expand and is effective only when the latter is enabled.
When this option is No, old selection collapses only if the old and the new selection are in the same parent folder.
When this option is Yes, the above limitation is removed.

The new selection is expanded. There is no change in the old selection.

Yes
The new selection is expanded. The old selection is collapsed.
