A paper that was suggested to me (not mentioned in the linked blog post) is:

"Practical Improvements to the Construction and Destruction of Static Single Assignment Form", by Preston Briggs, Keith D. Cooper, Timothy J. Harvey, I. Taylor Simpson all at Rice University SOFTWARE—PRACTICE AND EXPERIENCE, VOL. 28(8), 1–28 (July 1998)

From memory it analyses some details that are not so clear in the earlier papers. I am not an expert, and I haven't seen most of the more recent papers that you listed, so I can't vouch for it in any sense.

Thank you for your blog post. I saw it on hacker news. It is helpful for a side-project.
