Benefit Hypothesis
The current Reporting Online Examples application does not demonstrate the Reporting capabilities in a clear and understandable way. The current example reports are designed with business scenarios in mind, but fail to showcase specific features or approaches.
This is unacceptable because the prospect clients do not have a clear overview on engine/viewer functionalities, and may be left with the impression that our product fits only set of scenarios.
We envision a world where the prospects will be able to see examples designed for showcasing both business needs and specific features.
Solution Scope
Redesign/Refactor the current layout of the web application, exposing three links on the main page:
- Web Designer - opens the page for designing a report and examine WRD functionalities.
- Feature Demos - opens a page that lists feature reports, not grouped by common business scenarios;
- Business Demos - opens a page that lists 'business' reports, showing how the product can meet the reporting needs of an organization.
Examples for Feature Demos: Choropleth, ListBound report, Repeatable Table Groups, Cross-section item
Examples for Business Demos: Invoice, SalesOrder details, Dashboard, Sales By Region
Acceptance criteria:
NOTE: the purpose of this story is to have a working functionality. We'll build upon in a subsequent story, involving UI/UX.
TBD:
- Overall design, including texts, descriptions, screenshots.
- Report contents for both Feature and Business categories.
