try this in your NavBarItem.m:

• (void)updateViewWithRatio:(CGFloat)ratio
  {
  //...
  CGFloat screenMiddle = self.superview.frame.size.width / 2;
  CGFloat difference = self.center.x - screenMiddle;
  CGPoint moveView = self.center;

  moveView.x -= ratio * difference;

  self.center = moveView;
  //...
  }
