🤖 agent-engineer - Learn practical AI agent skills

Download

📘 What this is

agent-engineer is a practical course for software engineers who want to learn how AI agents work. It helps you move from simple AI use to building agent-based workflows.

This course is built for Windows users who want a clear path to get started. You can use it to study core ideas, follow guided lessons, and try hands-on examples that focus on agentic systems, AI agents, and generative AI.

🖥️ What you need

  • A Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC
  • An internet connection
  • Enough free space to store the course files
  • A modern web browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
  • Basic comfort with opening files and folders

🚀 Download the course

Visit the releases page here:

Download agent-engineer from GitHub Releases

On that page, look for the latest release and download the file listed for Windows. If there are several files, choose the one meant for Windows or the main package file.

🛠️ Install and run on Windows

  1. Open the downloads folder in your browser or in File Explorer.
  2. Find the file you downloaded from the releases page.
  3. If the file is a ZIP file, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  4. Open the extracted folder.
  5. Look for the main app file, setup file, or course launcher file.
  6. Double-click that file to start the course.
  7. If Windows asks for permission, select Yes or Run.
  8. Follow the on-screen steps until the course opens.

📂 If you downloaded a ZIP file

Some releases come as a ZIP file. This is normal.

  1. Right-click the ZIP file.
  2. Select Extract All.
  3. Choose a folder you can find easily, like Downloads or Desktop.
  4. Open the new folder after extraction.
  5. Start the main file from inside that folder.

🔎 How to use the course

  • Open the course from the main file or launcher
  • Follow the lessons in order
  • Read each section before moving on
  • Use the examples as you go
  • Try the exercises after each lesson
  • Keep notes on prompts, patterns, and agent steps

🧭 What you will learn

This course focuses on practical work with AI agents. You can expect topics like:

  • How agentic systems think through tasks
  • How to split a large task into smaller steps
  • How to guide an AI agent with clear instructions
  • How to use generative AI in software work
  • How to build simple workflow loops
  • How to review and improve agent output
  • How to think about safety, limits, and control

🧰 Typical course features

The course package may include:

  • Guided lessons
  • Hands-on examples
  • Step-by-step exercises
  • Sample prompts
  • Short reference notes
  • Practice tasks for real use cases
  • A simple layout for easy reading

🧪 First run checks

After you open the course, check these items:

  • The main screen loads without errors
  • Text and images display clearly
  • Buttons or lesson links work
  • You can move between sections
  • Files open when you click them
  • The course remembers your place if you close it

If something does not open, close the app and start it again from the extracted folder.

🧼 Common Windows issues

File will not open

  • Make sure you extracted the ZIP file first
  • Check that you opened the correct file
  • Right-click the file and choose Open if double-click does not work

Windows shows a security prompt

  • Choose Yes or Run if you trust the file from the releases page
  • Use the file from the official GitHub release only

The file looks blocked

  • Right-click the file
  • Select Properties
  • If you see an Unblock option, turn it on
  • Click Apply and try again

The course starts but shows a blank screen

  • Close the app
  • Open it again
  • Make sure no other copy is already running
  • Try extracting the ZIP file to a shorter folder path like Desktop

🗂️ Suggested folder setup

Keep the files in a simple folder so they are easy to find.

Example:

  • Downloads
    • agent-engineer
      • app or course files

A clean folder path helps when you need to open the app again later.

📚 Who this course is for

This course is a good fit if you are:

  • A software engineer who wants to learn about AI agents
  • A beginner who wants a simple path into agentic frameworks
  • Someone who wants to understand generative AI in a practical way
  • A learner who prefers guided examples over theory
  • A Windows user who wants a direct install and run process

🧠 Learning approach

The course is set up to help you learn by doing. That means:

  • You read a short lesson
  • You see a clear example
  • You follow a task
  • You check the result
  • You repeat the pattern with new ideas

This approach works well for agent engineering because many ideas become clear only after you use them in a real workflow.

🛡️ Safe use

  • Download only from the GitHub releases page
  • Keep the files in a folder you can review later
  • Do not rename files unless the course tells you to
  • Do not move files while the app is open
  • If Windows blocks the file, check that you downloaded the release from the correct page

🔗 Download again if needed
