## 2026-05-21 - Denial of Service (DoS) Risk in Unbounded Agentic Operations
**Vulnerability:** The `ShellTool` and `AgentConnector` lacked execution and network boundaries (timeouts, buffer limits). An agent could execute shell commands that hang indefinitely or output excessive data, or make network requests that hang, exhausting system resources.
**Learning:** Agentic operations must operate within strict boundaries. Since agents operate autonomously, unbounded operations can lead to resource exhaustion (DoS) when agents inadvertently trigger infinite loops, enormous outputs, or unresponsive network endpoints.
**Prevention:** Always enforce strict boundaries on external interactions. Apply `timeout` and `maxBuffer` to shell executions (e.g., via `execAsync`), and configure network request timeouts (e.g., in Axios) to ensure resources are predictably released.
