Convert this code from "CoffeeScript" output to ES6 and document the code

This code initially came from CoffeeScript and so it is not as "pretty" as it would be with ES6. But of course it works fine. It would be nice to convert this to ES6 and document it like the rest of tsugi-node

I could take on that but this would require to have a comprehensive set of tests to be implemented first in order to ensure, that the code consistently behaves in the same way as before.
