Welcome to my GitHub! I'm Arthur, and currently I am in my sixth semester of undergraduate studies in Social Sciences at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sociology. For two years, I was part of the UFBA Digital Humanities Laboratory (LABHDUFBA), researching extremism and disinformation in Brazilian digital environments (with an emphasis on Telegram).
To date, I have two preprints in Digital Humanities 1, research experience more focused on traditional qualitative methods (interviews), and more recently, I have been exploring quantitative methods in the Sociology of Elites – yes, an advocate of mixed methods. If you would like more details about my academic work, take a look at my Zotero or Lattes CV!
Thanks to my time at LABHDUFBA, I have considerable contact with the most recent (or "modern") tools and methodologies in the Social Sciences. More specifically, I work extensively with and
(web scraping, manipulation, natural language processing, data visualization, etc.), but I'm also familiar with software like Elasticsearch
and Kibana
, Orange Data Mining, Atlas.ti, and Jamovi.
However, despite being a sociologist by training, I have a strong interest in other areas of knowledge! Lately, I've been exploring Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science :D (who knows where that will lead, haha). Anyway, I have some fun with and
2 for software development when I have time.
If you would like more information about me, check out my Lattes CV, contact me via Gmail
