Request: Option to block images and videos from group members only

Prerequisites

• I verified that this is not a filter list issue. Report any issues with filter lists or broken website functionality in the uAssets issue tracker.
• This is NOT a YouTube, Facebook or Twitch report. These sites MUST be reported by clicking their respective links.

• The issue is not present after disabling uBO in the browser.
• I checked the documentation to understand that the issue I am reporting is not normal behavior.

Hello,

I am contacting you as a WhatsApp user operating several spiritual and educational groups.

For the sake of maintaining focus and discipline in our study groups, we kindly request the ability to block only images and videos sent by group members, while still allowing:

All text messages

Media (images/videos) sent by admins

This feature would greatly benefit responsible group environments—especially in religious, educational, and communal contexts where visual content can be disruptive or inappropriate.

We would be deeply grateful if this request could be forwarded to your product team for consideration in future updates.

Steps to Reproduce

Not a bug – this is a feature request.

Expected behavior

An optional setting per group or chat that allows:

– Text messages from all members
– Media (images, videos) only from admins or authorized users

This would help educational or spiritual groups maintain focus and discipline.

Actual behavior

Currently, WhatsApp does not allow selective blocking of media by message source (e.g. member vs admin). All media is treated the same.
