Description

Adding ANIMA Docker ROS 2 to the Development with Docker section.

What it is: A browser-first ROS 2 desktop that gives you a complete robotics development environment with one docker compose up command. Includes noVNC desktop, Gazebo simulation, Foxglove visualization, and starter workflows.

Why it belongs here: It's a multi-container Docker setup demonstrating advanced service composition for robotics — noVNC, ROS 2, Gazebo, and Foxglove all orchestrated via docker-compose. Works on Mac (Apple Silicon), Linux, and Windows.

Key features:

  • One-command setup: make up or docker compose up
  • Browser-accessible desktop via noVNC at localhost:6080
  • Pre-configured ROS 2 Jazzy workspace
  • Gazebo simulation integration
  • Foxglove real-time visualization
  • GHCR published images
