Calendar day labels are off by 1

The day labels are offset by one day. For instance, 2024-01-02 is a Tuesday yet is labeled a Monday. There needs to be a global shifting of day labels by -1.

Heatmap tracker for Obsidian had a similar issue, see mokkiebear/heatmap-tracker@1.7.3...1.7.4. The developer figured out that the underlying issue was as simple as a time zone one.

Instead of using

const startOfYear = new Date(date.getFullYear(), 0, 0);

you want to use

const startOfYear = Date.UTC(date.getFullYear(), 0, 0);

Could you see if that fixes the issue?

Having the same problem, 31 of last year was Tuesday and the calendar displays it on a Monday.

Hi! I’m also seeing this issue — for example, the plugin shows 2025-12-29 as Sunday, even though it should be Monday ( My timezone is UTC -6).

I’m not an expert, but from what I’ve been able to find, this might be related to how JavaScript parses date-only strings like "YYYY-MM-DD". It seems that new Date("YYYY-MM-DD") can be treated as UTC, which could cause the weekday to shift depending on timezone.

I wonder if parsing these dates as local dates instead (for example by forcing local midnight, or using Luxon with a local zone) might solve the problem.

Just wanted to share in case this helps — thanks for maintaining the plugin!

Hi there, I am just chiming in to say I have also noticed the same issue. I am showing 2025-12-30 as a Monday but it is a Tuesday here where I am at. Also noticed that when I make a fixed month-track that has

fromDate: 2025-12-01
toDate: 2025-12-31

it will show the last day of November as the start date.

I hope it helps narrow down the issue.

Your main.js of this extension should be inside this folder:
<YOUR_WORKSPACE_FOLDER>/.obsidian/plugins/contribution-graph

You can find your workspace folder path by clicking the button on bottom left, then “manage Vault”.
