Closing this PR as it is not sufficient to fix the underlying issue. The main branch currently has a TypeScript compilation failure because @types/node was bumped to 24.x (PR #221) but TypeScript is still at 4.4.4. TypeScript 4.9.5 (this PR's target) is also incompatible with @types/node 24.x — the fix requires upgrading to TypeScript 5.x. This PR would not resolve the CI failures. A separate PR upgrading TypeScript to ^5.0.0 is needed.
