Our pledge
We as members, contributors, and maintainers of the WinCC OA Tools Pack ecosystem pledge to make participation in our projects and community a harassment‑free experience for everyone, regardless of:
- Background: experience level, education, nationality, or profession
- Identity: gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion (or lack thereof)
- Role: user, contributor, maintainer, sponsor, or partner
We are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and collaborative environment for everyone who wants to improve the WinCC OA ecosystem.
Our standards
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
- Being respectful and considerate in all interactions
- Using inclusive language and assuming good intent
- Providing constructive feedback and focusing on solutions
- Sharing knowledge and helping others grow
- Recognizing and valuing different perspectives and experiences
- Giving credit where it is due
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Harassment or discrimination in any form
- Insults, personal attacks, or derogatory comments
- Public or private harassment (including DMs and off‑platform channels)
- Publishing others’ private information without explicit permission
- Sustained disruption of discussions, issues, or community spaces
- Any behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome
Our responsibilities
Project maintainers are responsible for:
- Clarifying standards of acceptable behavior
- Reviewing and addressing reports of unacceptable behavior
- Taking appropriate and fair corrective action when needed
- Fostering a culture of respect, openness, and collaboration
Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject:
- Comments
- Commits
- Code
- Wiki edits
- Issues
- Pull requests
…that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, or to temporarily or permanently ban any contributor for behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to:
- All repositories under the winccoa-tools-pack organization
- GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, and comments
- Community calls, chats, and real‑time collaboration spaces
- Any public or private space where the project is represented
It also applies when an individual is officially representing the project or community, including:
- Using an official project account
- Acting as a project maintainer or representative
- Participating in events, conferences, or online forums as part of the project
Reporting issues
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, or have any concerns, please report it.
You can contact the maintainers via:
- GitHub: by opening a confidential issue in the .github repository (if available)
- Direct contact: via the contact information listed in the organization or repository README files
When reporting, please include:
- A description of what happened
- Links, screenshots, or context if available
- Date, time, and location (repository, issue, discussion, etc.)
- Any other information you feel is relevant
All reports will be reviewed and handled as promptly and confidentially as possible.
Enforcement
Project maintainers will:
- Review all reports in good faith
- Keep reporters’ identities as confidential as possible
- Take actions they deem appropriate based on the severity and context
Possible actions include, but are not limited to:
- A private warning
- A public warning
- Temporary or permanent ban from one or more repositories
- Reverting or removing contributions that violate this Code of Conduct
Maintainers who do not follow or enforce this Code of Conduct in good faith may be removed from their roles.
