What am I missing? (ZFSBootMenu and Linux Mint) #814

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it. One similar question here was closed without being answered, even with a "no, can't be done". I want to use ZFSBootMenu with the latest Linux Mint (Zena 22.3) with Cinnamon since Ubuntu and Mint have both removed installing ZFS boot support on new installs. The documentation indicates this is possible by lumping all the Ubuntu based distros together. But it appears this just leaves you with a very minimal Ubuntu installation. I've found some discussions on Reddit that sort of say it's possible to get a full Mint GUI environment as if you'd done a full install, but the process looks very complicated (i.e. you basically install everything by hand) and is rather vague on some steps. Can someone point to complete instructions to get ZFSBootMenu and a full Linux Mint 22.3 install working together? Thanks! |
