Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inspiring community for all. We pledge that everyone participating in the ZeroLinux Terminal community will be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of age, body size, caste, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, sexual identity and orientation, or any other dimension of diversity.

Expected Behavior

We encourage all participants to:

  • Be respectful. Disagreements about technical decisions are healthy and expected. Approach them with curiosity, not hostility.
  • Be inclusive. Welcome newcomers and help them get started. Not everyone is a shell expert.
  • Be direct. Say what you mean. Avoid passive-aggressive behavior or veiled insults.
  • Give credit. Acknowledge the contributions of others. A "thank you" costs nothing and means a lot.
  • Focus on the code, not the person. Criticize ideas freely; never criticize people.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, stalking, or intimidation
  • Discrimination based on any protected characteristic
  • Hate speech or slurs targeting individuals or groups
  • Personal attacks or ad hominem arguments
  • Doxing or publishing private information without consent
  • Spam or flooding channels with unwanted content
  • Sexual content or inappropriate advances

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior:

  1. Email us privately: zarchblack@protonmail.com

    • Include a description of the incident
    • Include context and any relevant links
    • We will respond within 48 hours
  2. Do not call out the person publicly — let maintainers handle it

  3. You will not be retaliated against for reporting in good faith

Enforcement

Maintainers will investigate all reports and may:

  • Issue a private warning
  • Request a public apology
  • Remove comments or posts
  • Ban the person from the community

Repeated violations will result in permanent removal.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • GitHub issues, pull requests, and discussions
  • Our chat channels and forums (if any)
  • Public community events and spaces
  • Private communication if it's about the project

It applies to everyone — maintainers, contributors, and users alike.

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
